Candace Peter is the founder and managing partner for JP Law.

Attorney Peter is licensed to practice law in both California and Florida.  She received her Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University, College of Law.

Prior to starting JP Law, Attorney Peter worked as an Insurance Litigation Defense Attorney representing employers and their insurance companies.  Former clients range from small, family-owned businesses and restaurants to prominent mega-employers, such as SpaceX, JPL, Los Angeles Unified School District, and the County of Los Angeles.

Attorney Peter is experienced in all stages of Workers’ Compensation litigation. Attorney Peter is highly experienced in the strategies and tactics that insurance companies use in order to avoid paying injured workers and will fight for you!  She isn’t afraid to take your case to Trial when necessary.

Attorney Peter has also been helping Family law clients for over a decade.  She began her legal career by working as a Family Law Paralegal.  Now, as an attorney, her goal is to effectively represent Family Law clients while keeping their costs down.

Outside of work, Attorney Peter is a member of the California Lawyers Association, CA Bar Workers’ Compensation Section, CA Bar Family Law Section, and serves on the CA Bar Association’s Diversity in the Profession Committee. The Committee’s primary focus is on mentorship and inclusion of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds into the legal profession.
